This site is built for the people it is about. If you are a Lui Chew descendant, this is your space — to share a family story, post a local gathering, or ask for help tracing your roots back to China.
In short
The Community Board is an open, moderated space for the Lui Chew community to contribute three things: a family story, a local Lui Chew activity or gathering, or a roots-search request — for example, help tracing a family line back to a village in Leizhou.
It is run by a fellow descendant as part of this independent heritage project. It is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, any clan association, and it does not organise events itself. Listings are shared by the community; submissions are reviewed before they appear, and every contribution is credited.
A heritage record should not be a one-way broadcast. The Lui Chew story is still being lived — in family memories, in small gatherings, and in the quiet searches of people trying to find where they came from. This page is where you can add to it.
Send it in. Use the contact link below and tell us which of the three it is — a story, an activity, or a roots search — with whatever detail you can give.
We review it. Every submission is read first, for accuracy and for respect. Nothing is published without your permission.
It goes up, credited. Approved contributions are added to the board, credited to you and dated. You can ask for changes or removal at any time.
The board is new, and grows with what the community shares. If you have something to add, you may be the first.
An independent space
Please read. This is an independent, descendant-run noticeboard, part of a heritage and education project. It is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, the Melaka Leizhou Association, Persatuan Lui Chew Johor, the Singapore Lui Chiu Hoe Kuan, or any other clan body — and it does not organise activities itself. Listings here are shared by members of the community; for anything official, including membership, please contact the relevant association directly. Always confirm event details with the organisers.
Frequently asked questions
Who runs this board?
A Lui Chew descendant, as part of this independent heritage and education project. It is not affiliated with any clan association and does not speak for one.
What can I post?
Three things: a family story; a local Lui Chew activity or gathering you would like others to know about; or a roots-search request, such as help tracing your family line back to a village in Leizhou. Anything respectful and relevant to the community is welcome.
Will my submission appear immediately?
No. Every submission is reviewed first, and published only with your permission. This keeps the board accurate and respectful. Contributions are credited and dated.
Can this board help me find relatives in China?
It can help you ask. Posting a roots-search request puts your question in front of other descendants and readers who may recognise a name, a village or a surname. We cannot promise a result, but many reconnections begin with a single shared detail. The Family & Roots guide is a good place to prepare first.
